How volunteers can help Music to Cure MS raise money for the Accelerated Cure Project without getting on stage:
BEFORE THE CONCERT | AT THE CONCERT
(contact Marion for more information)
BEFORE THE CONCERT
1) Solicit program ads and ad exchanges
An ad in our program booklet may be purchased by small businesses or individuals.
- Quarter Page Ad (4" X 2", or business card ) : $40
- Half Page Ad (4" X 3.5") : $65
- Ad Exchange (for performing groups) : print our ad in your program in exchange for your ad of the same size in ours.
Full details, including a downloadable document you can provide to potential donors, are available at our Corporate Sponsorship and Ad Booklet Pricing under "Ads for Small Businesses"
2) Solicit goods or services for either a Raffle or a Silent Auction (also see below, Organize/coordinate the process of a Raffle or a Silent Auction) . Sales of these donations will raise funds for the Accelerated Cure Project, and the donor's name will be listed in the program booklet.
Full details for donors, including a downloadable document you can provide to potential donors, are available at our Corporate Sponsorship and Ad Booklet Pricing under "Ads for Small Businesses"
3) Solicit corporate sponsors: Corporate Sponsorship is available for companies looking for a marketing presence beyond a program ad. Packages include benefits such as free tickets, promotion on both the Music to Cure MS and the Accelerated Cure Project website, signage at the event, and mention of their company in our concert advertising and press release.
Full details for various levels of sponsorship, including a downloadable document you can provide to potential sponsors, are available at our Corporate Sponsorship and Ad Booklet Pricing page
4) Organize the "Sponsor an Artist" program, or just sponsor someone yourself: People who want to support the work of a specific performer but can't attend the concert can donate to the concert, specifying the artist they wish to honor
- the old, off-line way: print out "Sponsor an Artist" forms and collect names & checks to be donated to the ACP via the concert. Names, addresses and emails collected can be added to the concert's mailing list, to invite more people to next yer's concert
- on-line: Invite sponsors to donate
through the 2014 Cure Project Donations page.
Details are available at our Sponsor an Artist page.
5) Solicit or provide refreshments to be sold during intermission.
- Baked goods provided by popular local establishments (for instance, Lakota Bakery) can serve as either refreshments or raffle prizes
- Brownies and cookies baked by volunteers are eagerly purchased and enjoyed by audiences.
- 6 oz bottles of water (for sale) are welcomed by audiences, and are also good to make available (for free) to performers . (If these are not available as a donation, Marion will gladly spring for $5 - $10 worth of water!)
6) Sell tickets to the concert!
7) Become or help our Public Relations Manager: see our Publicity page.
AT THE CONCERT
1) At the door, as the audience enters:
- accept admittance fees (no actual tickets exist), provide change when needed , keep records of different types of ticket sales (general audience, seniors, students)
- provide programs
- collect name/address/email info for our mailing list
2) * Organize/coordinate the process of a Raffle or a Silent Auction. Raffles held during past concerts have successfully raised funds for the ACP, but
- as the number of prizes has increased, the process has become time-consuming and less popular, and
- it has been suggested that a Silent Auction would be both more efficient and more remunerative
- An expert at coordinating either a Silent Auction or a Raffle would be a very welcome addition to the concert staff. Ideas for improving the raffle have already been put in place, but an auction would be new to us
- Staffers will be needed to sell raffle tickets or to introduce the auction materials, and to perform the final prize announcements
3) Sell refreshments during intermission
- set out baked goods, bottled water or other drinks, napkins & cups (hot cups for cocoa, cold cups if needed for other drinks besides bottled water)
- collect money & make change
- cocoa or cider: Best Friends Cocoa, a supporter almost from the start of the concert, is no longer available, but cocoa or cider are still welcome treats - anyone who can arrange to provide the drinks and heating equipment would win our gratitude!
